I was referred to Jody Berkes through a colleague of mine. I met with Mr. Berkes two months after I was charged with Aggravated Assault and Assault with a weapon.
Since i was referred to him through one of his previous clients he was kind enough to offer me a 1 hour free consultation which turned into an almost 2 hour conversation.

Mr.Berkes did not sugar coat anything regarding my charges and the fact that I was facing serious jail time. On the other hand he lead me in the right direction by telling me what I needed to do in order to help my case and prove to the judge why I did not deserve to go to jail. It was a definite up hill battle from the crown assigned to my case not wanting to lessen my charge to myself having to speak on the stand. After almost a year of what felt like a battle, Mr. Berkes was a man of his word and was able to rationalize the event causing my charges resulting in the judge granting me a suspended sentence avoiding any jail time.

I have learned many lessons after going through what seemed to be the hardest year of my life however the one lesson I have passed on is, if anyone gets in serious legal trouble don't think that a more cost efficient lawyer will provide the same results as a more expensive one. In the end you get what you pay for and Mr. Berkes is proven to be worth every penny.

I would recommend Mr.Berkes to anyone in need of help because he is a distinct lawyer that assists in making difficult decisions but also supports his clients in anyway he can.
